West Bengal win All India Postal cricket title

West Bengal won the title in the 26th All-India Postal Cricket Tournament, trouncing defending champions Gujarat by nine wickets in the floodlit final at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack today. Subhojit Paul, Parthasarathi Bhattacharya, Jayojit Basu, Sayak Ghosh (all West Bengal) and Vivek Yadav (Gujarat) won the prizes as man of the final match, man of the tournament, best batsman, best bowler and best allrounder respectively.
BSNL Odisha Circle Chief General Manager N K Bhoi handed over the trophy in the presence of Odisha Cricket Association treasurer Satya Mohanty and Odisha Circle Chief Postmaster General S K Chakrabarti.
Earlier in the semifinals, Gujarat defeated last edition’s runners-up Rajasthan by four wickets, while West Bengal decimated host Odisha by 10 wickets. Odisha qualified for the semifinals by winning their three league matches against Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
